RACING ORGANIZATIONS, including:

Horse Racing Boards or Racing Commissions -- Government-appointed bodies which act on behalf of state, provincial or local governments in the regulation of pari-mutuel horse (or other) racing within their jurisdiction.
Horsemen's Benevolent & Protective Association (HBPA) and/or Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association (THA) divisions — affiliates of the national HBPA and THA, representing Thoroughbred owners and trainers throughout North America.

BREEDERS ASSOCIATIONS

State Breeders Associations are generally not-for-profit organizations which have as their goal the protection and betterment of their Thoroughbred industries. Activities include administration of state-bred incentive programs; representation of Thoroughbred interests at local and state government levels; encouragement of a market place for state-bred Thoroughbreds; and general promotion of state racing and breeding.

Horse Councils -- Regional Horse Council activities generally mirror those of the American Horse Council (AHC), which is a national trade organization representing all horse-related interests. The AHC promotes knowledge and understanding of horse activities and works with legislative agencies, the media and the industry itself, to develop an environment conducive to investment and other recreational, sport and pleasure uses of the Horse.
