Utilizing the extensive industry knowledge of its chartcallers to further enhance the comprehensiveness of information available on equibase.com, Equibase Company LLC today announced the debut of Backstretch BuzzTM, a compilation of regularly updated feature items and notes written by chartcallers at tracks throughout the country.
The Backstretch BuzzTM is edited by former Daily Racing Form columnist and current Equibase eastern region field supervisor, Jack Kelly.
“Our track and field personnel are not only accomplished chartcallers but many are current and former Daily Racing Form writers,” said Kelly. “Our chartcallers are on site at each track every day live racing is conducted and can provide both live and simulcast race fans with insightful information on a variety of subjects, including the horses, jockeys and trainers at each track.
“The license agreement signed in 1998 between Equibase and Daily Racing Form enabled us to put together the most talented chartcallers from both groups,” added Equibase data collection manager, Chuck Scaravilli. “Now, Backstretch BuzzTM pulls together in one location the latest highlights and feature information provided by the industry’s best from tracks across the country.”
The debut of Backstretch BuzzTM on equibase.com closely follows that of Carryover CornerTM, which provides a single location on the Internet where users can view a daily list of carryover pools at tracks throughout North America, then purchase the products necessary to handicap those races.
A comprehensive source of timely racing information, equibase.com is accessed daily by more than 30,000 racing fans. The site offers a full array of handicapping products and racing information, including free entries and results from all North American Thoroughbred tracks, as well as a streaming race results ticker.
