The Jockey Club On the Lead Podcast now Available

The Jockey Club announced today that is hosting a podcast, On the Lead, as part of its communications and outreach to the industry.

On the Lead, presented by The Jockey Club, is produced by the In the Money Media Network, owned and operated by Pete Fornatale and Jonathon Kinchen, and it is hosted by Shannon Kelly, executive director of The Jockey Club Safety Net Foundation, and Fornatale. The 12-episode series will cover a variety of topics reminiscent of the Round Table Conference’s theme of “matters pertaining to racing,” including The Jockey Club’s companies and industry initiatives.

The goal of the series is to have entertaining and interesting conversations with varying industry voices targeting owners, breeders, fans, and anyone interested in Thoroughbred breeding and racing. The podcasts will also feature a mailbag component that will incorporate questions from the audience. The email address for the On the Lead mailbag is

“Through the podcast and the mailbag feature, we hope to reach out to and answer questions from an audience who might not otherwise have the opportunity to interact with us,” said James L. The first podcast, which is now available, features a discussion about the registration process and how to name a Thoroughbred. Guests are legendary racetrack announcer Tom Durkin, The Jockey Club Associate Registrar Lori Johnson, and owner and breeder Jaime Roth of LNJ Foxwoods.
